Reflection:

My final project was a reflection of the two elements that matter the most in my life. As you can see, one of the most important things I get to cherish is the ability to have genuine friends and family who are there for me even in the darkest night. By having that support system I am able to express who I am as a person. In a way, It has shaped me into the person I am, which is a good trait to have. In this project, I tried to make it interesting in a way to invite the audience into my life. As you can see, This project has 2 main focus, Family and Friends. The first part Friends which is focused on the things my friends tend to enjoy. Whereas the second part, family of course highlight the typical things my Nephews tend to do.

PORTRAITURE

‘’ Sport is part of my identity’’

Sport has always been a major part of my life and has contributed to the person I am today. As an athlete, I have learned what it means to be a team player and the dedication it takes to achieve my goals. I have also learned about disappointment and failures from participating in organized sports. Most importantly, as a college student, it is very important to find time outside of Academics for yourself. For me, I see sport as a legacy because through sport I am able to express who I am as a Person.

”Personally trait”

The difference between when he can be goofy and funny. Compare to being in a happy stage where he is smiling probably at a funny joke.

”Doing things what he Loves”

The gratitude in which Hang find himself happy through doing things he enjoys and love. For example, walking on the beach on a beautiful day. As you can see, Hang was basically throwing rocks in the water. It seems that it is something he enjoys.

What I learned as a Portrait Photographer.

”I do have my own personal convictions and values, and I live by those. But as an artist, as a portrait photographer, my job is, to tell the truth, and to capture someone’s spirit on a certain day. And it’s never the whole truth; it’s the truth I experience in a very intense and intimate fashion” Planton.  As you can see, I have always expressed myself through self-portraits, In ways, it is a shape of form which illustrates someone identity. Most importantly it has a lot of meaning towards it. The best part what I have learned and realize is that it is quite challenging. For example, I took roughly 70 images and from those 70 I had to choose the best 6.

The hardest part was probably taking pictures of Individuals you probably have seen before or don’t even know. At one point the person whom I was taking pictures of did not even realize I was taking pictures of him, although I asked him beforehand. this resulted in several retakes.

Taking pictures of Individuals you know was probably the easiest part for me. For example, I knew that hang enjoys taking pictures at the beach which is one of the reasons I decided to take pictures of him at WEST  MEADOW BEACH

LEE FRIEDLANDER:

BACKGROUND

Pursue a life-long journey of self-study.

Many of us have never gone to photography school. I personally haven’t. I was fortunate enough to be born in the era of the internet in which I learned everything through the web. Now I am blessed enough to make enough money through my workshops, I can now purchase more photography books to continue my self-study in the world of photography.

Understandably, the faculty of the school was upset that Friedlander wasn’t attending his photography courses. Friedlander then decided to drop out of school. Fortunately enough, Kaminski (seeing potential in the young Friedlander) invited him to rent a room above his studio and to live with his family. Through these years, Friedlander got a great source of mentorship and advice from Kaminski on photography, painting, and other forms of art that Friedlander probably found more interesting.

As Friedlander got older, he continued his passion for self-knowledge and education. In the book Friedlander, Peter Galassi chronicles how Friedlander would visit libraries and analyze as many photography books as he could in his free time.

DUANE MICHAELS

Duane Michals was born in Micheesport Pennsylvania and started photography when he visited Russia. what i really like about him is that his work is about looking inside yourself. He is entirely self-taught which really inspired me. And i like that he is doing work about himself it makes me want to explore that more and make more work that reflects who i am

THE DREAM OF THE PLAYGROUND

Danny Gibbs ” The Dream of the Playground” Inspired artwork featuring my Nephews: Christopher, David and Shamiro.

The playground is surrounded by a smooth, rubber surface for safe and easy navigation, and a continual ramping system that guides children to a myriad of things to do. The Liberty Swing, a therapeutic key-activated wheelchair swing is one of many highlights at the playground, as well as high-back swings and a unique round swing.

ALTERED PERCEPTION: HEMISPATIAL NEGLECT

BACKGROUND OF HEMISPATIAL NEGLECT:

  • This condition makes half of your brain invisible
  • Usually leads to having a stroke, at which will eventually lead to ignoring half of the world. Example of this, a patient might neglect to eat half of their food on her plate, despite still being hungry
  • Or she  may draw a clock face only showing the numbers 12 to 6
  • Usually, half of the brain is injured which causes perception to only see half of an object. In other words, the person can no longer see or process information from the side of the body or environment.
  • Another example of this condition is someone who has a beard. In this case, someone with HEMISPATIAL NEGLECT might only see the right side of someone’s face (So basically the left side of someone face will be clear, whereas the right side with facial hair )which means the right side of the Individual Brain is affected.
