Kids are problematic to shoot. I had a 10am shoot with one family this morning. Two adults, two kids. You cannot wrangle a 2yo. The 4yo listened a bit. I got about 30 pictures, and some of them may actually be with their eyes open. The second shoot today was at 3pm. Of course, the most challenging aspect of these shoots was having to bring my own two kids along with me when they haven’t been in the car since March 9th. The second shoot was of two adults and two kids, as well, but one of them was a newborn. Their 5yo wasn’t keen on social distancing, so I had to do a lot of sidestepping and retreating out of respect for everyone’s health. I think I got some really good shots from the second shoot. I’m learning a great deal about shooting challenging subjects. Wearing a mask definitely makes the job substantially more challenging, however. Tomorrow, I will dedicate a chunk of time to photoshopping the photos. I also need to prep the “thank you” photos which I did for each family in exchange for assisting me with this project.
