Brody and his sisters tend their chickens. They gather their eggs each morning, a family grateful for fewer grocery supplies to have to come by. The new normal. Philippa and Henry Parker were excited to don their new masks, but when they step outside there is a pervasive paranoia that sets in. Most confusing for young children, covid-19 has produced boundaries and divides that were unimaginable just a couple of months ago. Katie Weiner introduced her baby sister Mia into the world just one week before her preschool was closed for the remainder of the school year. Life in quarantine with a brand new sibling has been an adjustment for everyone; they have been unable to share the joy of their new addition with extended family due to infection fears. Under the watchful eye of her father, Katie wanders as far from her house as she has been since the stay-at-home orders began in late March. The McAllisters have poured themselves into raising seedlings for their garden since self-quarantining, while mom attempts to work from home as a high-powered lobbyist. Professionalism often comes at the cost of everyone else spending all day outside. Young Kyle, who receives services from the school system, attempts to do his therapies online in order to be prepared for kindergarten next year, which may or may not be in person.
