Hello! My name is Yixin Li, I am a second year PhD student at the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, Stony Brook University. During the undergraduate period, my project contents mainly focused on the design and application of microcontrollers. After that, I decided to pursue the Master program at the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, Stony Brook University. During that time, I found I was curious about machine learning algorithms and applications, and I finished a number of lectures discussed about theorems on analyzing data.

In 2021, I was so fortunate to meet Prof. Goldan in his Novel Medical Imagining Goldan laboratory. And he helped me clarify the research direction as a PhD student, implementing machine learning algorithms to improve the detection accuracy of medical devices. My current research is focusing on utilizing Convolutional Neural Network to analyzing PET imaging, which aims to build depth-encoding detectors with single-ended readout for constructing high-resolution and high-sensitivity PET scanners.
