Limitations of Compression Vest

  • Patients who undergo an expensive surgery most likely would not want to purchase a compression vest as an added expense.

  • Compression vests such as the one used for pocket hematoma could potentially lead to over compression or a limited pressure distribution which leads to venous stasis or thrombosis along with skin folding and bulging.  (Ormseth 2023)

  • The vest is a restricting garment which causes issues with mobility especially after wearing the additional supportive wedge, it is difficult to maneuver through daily life.
