Meant to be a sort of advertisement for the human fixation on uploading memories to the cloud, in order to preserve consciousness and achieve a sort of immortality. This is inspired by a specific instance in which a startup called Nectome pitches a mind-uploading service that is “100 percent fatal.” The company promises to preserve your brain, but you must first be euthanized, as the brain needs to be fresh in order for it to work.
