Project #1 – Memory: “The Archives”

Ever since I saw Disney/ Pixar’s Inside Out at the end of 2015 in one of my high-school art classes, it forever shaped my perception of memory with the long, tall and sprawling rows of past memories, sent there by Riley’s emotions to make room for new ones up in the command center. So for this project, I decided to do something similar and possibly even expand upon that concept; here, in a library-like setting called the Archives (hence the name I gave this), the brain (or possibly even emotions of one’s own) has organized memories by year, month and week, and the glowing blue chute works both ways- both for sending in new memories and recalling old ones when needed. Alongside the 5 emotions of crystal you might recognize from the film Inside Out, there is also a new one I added in, a pink one which can either represent love, hope, or resolve.
