Shapes & Patterns

We can see shapes and patterns everywhere we look, from the tiles in your kitchen to the knitted design on your sweater. They can be found in nature, architecture, textiles, as well as man-made patterns. Ordinary objects we see everyday can be portrayed as beautiful photographs that highlight their unique shape and pattern. To me, pattern photography is very calming and satisfying to look at because of the organization and flow of the patterns. Shooting pattern photography may require zooming in to the object and getting up close to capture all the details and repetitiveness in the patterns. In this series, I mainly focused on architectural shapes and patterns including drawings on walls, constructed arches, and patterned designs on sidewalks.
