About Me

More About Me

My hometown Oswego, NY so my time here at SBU is my first experience living away from home. So far it has been a fun experience. My interests in Biology came from my high school biology class. Learning more about the cell and seeing them under a microscope was fascinating to me and one of the main reasons why I pursued Biology as an undergrad. During my undergrad at Oswego, I learned how broad of a field Biology can be. It wasn’t until I was doing research for a paper when I began to develop an interest in tissue engineering. The concept of growing tissue and even potentially fully function organs is what made me consider pursuing Biomedical Engineering after my undergrad. After the Fall 2018 semester of my senior year, I submitted my grad school application to SBU and here I am today.

Outside of academics, I have an interest in photography. Since this is my first time away from home, there are many new places to take pictures of. If I’m not out exploring new places, I will likely be playing video games with friends.

Previous Research Experience

Genomics Research:

  • Analyzed prevalence of the endosymbiont, Wolbachia in various organisms using a bioinformatics approach. Research involved utilizing the Unix command line and NCBI database to collect and analyze data.
