Gun Control Issue

The topic of this project plays with the idea of gun control. In each of these images, the idea of guns is emphasized and empowered. It’s supposed to refer to how people usually pray after tragic deaths are caused by the use of guns. These images are supposed to be radical in which they point out the faults of just praying for the end of gun violence and the unnecessary feeling of need for guns.

The first image depicts someone reciting the bible and the cross is in front of it which is casting a shadow which looks like a cross made with guns and bullets. The image questions the viewer about their beliefs. Reciting from a bible and praying will not automatically change the violent ways of guns, which is why the cross casts off the shadow of guns and bullets.

The second image is shows a person with their hands in prayer with a gun in between their hands. It points out that prayers after tragic deaths caused by gun violence hasn’t been helpful in decreasing such outbreaks. Some are so invested in the idea of protecting their gun rights that they praise the use of guns.

The third image takes the second image to another level in which it depicts a man walking up the stairs to heaven being greeted by a cross made of guns and bullets. It further glorifies guns because of how it shows the man walking each step to get to heaven, giving off the idea of how much people are willing to do to protect their gun rights. The image points out how strange it is for people to protect these gun rights almost as much as they would follow their God or belief.
