There are a total of 19 SINC Sites, some of which are staffed by our consultant and other are solely for classroom purpose. In this week of internship class, we visited the SINC Site in ESS (Earth Space Science). We weren’t able to go inside the room and explore due to a class in session. None the less, the weather was beautiful out (No more snow please), and it was good to have class outside of a regular classroom. Then we visited the Pysics SINC Site followed by Harriman SINC Site.

In Harriman, Victoria, Celia and Steven, all gave their presentations on Sparky. Steven walked us through the basic of Sparky such as attaining a account and signing onto Sparky. Celia then gave us a few basic coding commands via HTML. Victoria finished up the presentation by explain how we can edit our website through Adobe Dreamweaver.

In my shadowing hours, Jane went over the basic of scheduling with me. She showed me the proper format to send emails to consultants and what they should contain. We also went over the master Excel sheet, that is important when scheduling. Finally we went over the differences between Senior Consultant and regular Consultants when signing up for shifts. Jane told me that it is very important to not be bias when scheduling, rather we should give shifts to individual base on their qualification of the requirements (Have they worked in the Site before? Did they the appropriate workshops to be working in certain Sites).

We were given a assignment to construct our own webpage through Sparky. Click this to check out my site.
