“Nothing is impossible, the word itself says ‘I’m possible’!”
-Audrey Hepburn
The second week, we picked our shadowing hours. I chose shadowing hours during Monday and Wednesday. On Mondays, my hour started at 1:00 pm and ended at 2:00 pm with Jane Lee for Site Manager shadowing. On Wednesdays, my hours consisted of 9:00 am to 10:00 am with Victoria Tan for Manager shadowing, and 3:00PM to 5:00PM with Adrienne Malaluan for Help Desk Shadowing.
In the second week of classes, we talked about various topics including E-Portfolios and Digication. Two senior consultants, Jasmine Biennau and Jennifer Yi, walked us through the process of setting up accounts for our E-Portfolios and Digication. It was fairly straightforward so we had no trouble during that. We also learned about Yammer, which is a social media website that helps employees collaborate. We created accounts on Yammer and all introduced ourselves to the manager of Academic Technology Services, Diana Voss, through Yammer, and adding what we thought about the Yammer experience, which I thought was really neat.
We also started discussion boards during this time. In the discussion boards, we talked about our experiences with the applications that we’re using. We discussed with each other our various experiences with E-Portfolio and Digication, along with the uses that we think the applications will have in an academic environment.
