Prompt 01: My Academic Journey

I’m here to succeed, and with as few regrets over mistakes as possible — this has been my motivation immediately upon setting foot on campus. My journey of hard work in high school and the tuition, with a significant portion that has even been graciously paid for by the university, propelled me to reach new heights in this new ballpark. So from the moment I entered my dorm room in Stimson for the first time, I knew that the Library that I had visited during the orientation a few weeks back would be my preferred home. Semester after semester, coming and going, and my prediction happened to come true.

The computing society was there for me as we ventured throughout dozens of hackathons across the country, as we formed network connections with corporate sponsors and created cool hacks. Attending so many hackathons even forced me to focus much harder on studying during the week, which helped me with time management. There were even the numerous student groups I had decided to subscribe to, that helped me with school involvement, moral support, and fulfilling my social extroversion. All, of course, balanced with my ultimate priority — to do well in school. And so I did, although there were many social events I had to turn down due to my busy schedule and priorities. However my focus on the long term rather than the short term paid off with very little setback. Now I can walk off this campus, diploma and sweat on my hands with a new and continued journey awaiting my breakthrough.
