PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Dream:
. a series of thoughts, visions, and feelings that happen in your mind while you are asleep
. something that you have wanted very much to do, be, or have for a long time
. an idea or vision that is created in your imagination and that is not real
. a beautiful or wonderful person or thing
…
. something opaque and uncertain
…
You may think you know what dream is, but you really don’t.
The closer you come to, the further you will be.
SYNOPSIS OF PROPOSED WORK:
How often do we dream, and what do we dream?
The word, ‘dream’ has several meanings. We ‘dream’ when we fall in to sleep. We ‘dream’ for the future. And we also dream anything we want to, since our imagination enables us.
I wanted to create an imagery of dream, and here I have it, which is inspired by the word, ‘dream’ itself and also from songs about ‘dream’. I want these images to capture the features of dream. All dreams are different but they are also same in some ways. They are all opaque for we cannot tell how the dreams, for the future are going to come true, and we cannot retrieve what we dreamed last night clearly. I think dream is all about something opaque and uncertain. We might think that we know what ‘dream’ is, but we really don’t know. What if your entire life had been just a long dream of you…?
RESEARCH OUTCOMES / ARTWORKS:
I want to develop my skills of using color gels and proper lighting for each scene for this project.
I think I will use some of complimentary colors in my images and I am thinking using some vividly colored objects as well with the color gels. I will work with petals in various colors and manicures or acrylic paints. I will produce a series of photographs for this project as well and it is going to be about 5-7 images for total.
