I am a PhD student in the Nye lab in the School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences at Stony Brook University, NY. I consider myself a quantitative and field ecologist with specific interest in population modelling. I received my B.S. from the University of Richmond, VA and received my Master’s from the University of St. Andrews UK. My master’s thesis work was on quantitative assessment of the social structure of the Chilean Dolphin.

Since then, I have taken various ecological field jobs around the United States, working in ecosystems ranging from coastal to riparian to desert. In 2012-13, I was employed at the University of Maryland Chesapeake Biological lab where I constructed a predictive model to investigate the possible biotic and/or abiotic indicators of dissolved oxygen levels in the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries.

At Stony Brook, I am working on population level effects of ocean acidification on marine bivalves in Great South Bay, NY using various population modelling approaches. My thesis work involves incorporation of temperature effects on vital rates in population models to explore the impacts on summer flounder abundance and distribution.
