Cig Harvey is a fine art photographer from England. She focuses her work on the lush parts of everyday life and the roots of nature, to “explore sensory experience and elevate everyday life” (https://www.cigharvey.com/about). She has many various solo and group exhibitions, and in New York, she is represented by the Robert Mann Gallery.
I am a fan of Cig Harvey’s work because I admire fine art and enjoy her various emphasis on color and the themes surrounding the mundane of everyday life and elevating it with color. The composition of her works are always well balanced and turn everyday objects vibrant, as well as highlighting the vibrancy of nature. Using natural colors, her work is clean with a clear focal point, such as in “The Meal Back Then,” “Scout in the neon balloons,” “The Screen Door,” and “Emerald Coat with Dahlia Petal.” In addition, her works with nature in “Falling Leaves,” “Otessa and the Ginestra,” “Seven Butterfly Specimens,” and “Azaleas Pressing” engulfs the viewer into the image, feeling the essence of nature.
