In this project, I try to use clamshells as a metaphor to denounce illegal surrogacy. In many countries, women even minors are forced to do surrogacy for money. Their bodies and minds get permanently damaged. This reminds me of how people cut clamshells just for pearls. Except for the last photo, all other photos are taken under water. I used sony a6000 and waterproof camera case.

Based on a novel which is also based on truth, I also made a short film.  Paying respect to the shooting technique of Meshes of the Afternoon by Maya Deren. Link is attached. The novel is also my main inspiration for this project.
