Stony Brook’s Joint Photon Sciences Institute (JPSI) is a hub for developing and applying X-ray methods, and it supports researchers using the nearby NSLS-II synchrotron and the upcoming Lab-EXAFS User Facility.

JPSI is open to all Stony Brook faculty interested in synchrotron and X-ray science. The institute also hosts local symposia, lectures, and workshops to educate light-source users, and it funds senior graduate students through competitive proposals from joint Stony Brook-NSLS-II PIs.
