When interviewing Stephanie, she shared that her favorite colors were pink and blue, “like cotton candy”. However, when she further explained her personality and interests, my thought process around her photo completely changed. Instead of a dainty blue sky with pink clouds, I was inspired to find neon signs that gave the energy of night life and fun. Originally, I wanted a carnival environment to capture that exciting feeling of liveliness, but she did say she loved the bar scene! The photo is bright and bold, just like her.

I knew before interviewing Kat that she was a Journalism major, so I figured I would incorporate that somehow being it was one of the first things I learned about her. She told me her favorite color was forest green and she enjoyed long drives listening to her favorite podcast, so once I saw this newspaper clipping, I knew I had to use it in her piece. Shooting it, with the help of a friend, in front of a dreamy, forest-y landscape gave the calm and collected energy that Kat exudes naturally.
