In November, Prof. Reed co-published a paper led by NCAR colleague Dr. Angeline Pendergrass in AGU’s Geophysical Research Letters (GRL). The study (link here) explores the connection between extreme precipitation, organized convection and surface warming in idealized simulations. The work demonstrates that the amount at which extreme precipitation changes with warming depends on the degree of convective organization.
