When You Are Young
When you are young, the world seems simpler and has infinite possibilities. You see the world through rose-colored glasses and feel your emotions with your whole heart. You can bounce from feeling to feeling within minutes, completely unaware of the rollercoaster you just endured. When you are young, you are making sense of the world around you. You experience new situations and environments while discerning how you feel within them. When you are young, a negative emotion can feel like the end of the world– until it isn’t. When you are young, you are fascinated and resilient. This full-fledged emotion and determination of children is what inspired me to create a photo series of my nieces– Casey, Penelope and Genevieve. Through their raw emotion, you can see the building blocks of understanding as children strive to understand and fit into the world around them.
