During Tucker’s talk, I was very interested in his sculpture work before he started the Folly Tree Arboretum. I especially liked his work called “STAMPEDE” with the 100 Indian Runner Ducks. I thought that the ducks were really unique looking and super cute. I like that he never stopped featuring the ducks in his work like when he uses them as a scale reference in his tree photos.
I also really liked the tree shaping. I forgot the name of the artist he was inspired by but I thought it was really impressive how they were able to bend tree trunks to grow in a certain shape. I also really like that not all of his work has a really deep meaning and that he has really funny puppet shows that he puts on with his partner. He doesn’t take himself too seriously and I really think that shows through his work as well.
I also thought his human puppet lectures were really funny and I liked his short anecdotes about the pieces he made. For example, when they were showing different statistics through bar graphs, they forgot to put eye holes in the costumes and they ended up bumping into each other while trying to get offstage.
