Unphotographable

“Unphotographable is a project created in 2004 that has extended world-wide. The premise is that sometimes there is a photo we want to take– but for some reason it never happens – and these photos are not meant to be forgotten.”

Described below is my “unphotographable” moment in which I wish I could have been captured with my camera.

This is a picture I did not take…

…of my backyard on a warm summer night, the night of my brother’s high school graduation celebration. The air was thick and warm and was illuminated by the warm orange tones coming from the fire pit, and tall fire torches lit along the fence. Although the sky was dark, the various sources of light, including the sea blue color of the pool helped light the night as many conversations carried on. Under the Gazebo sitting on couches was me, my mother, and two of her friends chatting and laughing in each other’s presence encircled around the graphite fire pit. The scene was very captivating being amongst loved ones enjoying life and while occasionally glazing over to the playful chaos that was occurring in the pool.
