Hemispatial Neglect

Hemispatial neglect is a neuropsychological condition that causes an individual to lose awareness of stimuli or objects to one side of space. In extreme cases, they may be unaware of people or other large objects on their impacted side. For this project, it was important to me that the asymmetry present to be as organic as possible. To do this, I focused on finding instances of imbalance in nature rather than staging scenes to photograph. That said, the last picture in the series was staged to show an extreme example of the condition compared to a more subtle one as seen in the first picture, for example.
