This is a picture I did not take
of myself in a cherry red vinyl booth surrounded by my suitemates with laminated menus in hand, pouring over the delectable options while the smells of hashbrowns, pancakes, and coffee dance in the air, waitresses and waiters buzz between tables full with families, friends, and couples, a bustling kitchen hides behind a white counter where an older woman gently sips her tea while consulting her daily horoscope in today’s paper, there’s a line out the door to be seated, but no one appears to be in a rush to give up their tables on this lazy Sunday morning.
