I am going to take a photograph of the back of my house. In frame the back door and back porch and bay window at dusk or dawn. My sister will be sitting on the steps with some sign that she is leaving or coming home (suitcase). My mother will be seen either in the doorway looking at her or through the window looking at her. I will light the photo from the back porch light, the lights inside the house and external lights so that my sister’s face is silhouetted and my mother is fully seen. Gregory Crewdson’s photos always feature a sad or intense interaction between two people. I would like to show the struggle of twenty year olds today and how difficult it is to move away from home.
