Andy Goldsworthy

From the list of photographers, Andy Goldsworthy stood out to me the most due to his use of sculptures and placement in his photos. After watching the documentary, I really appreciated the work and effort needed to take a single photo. Some of them were fleeting moments where he only had seconds to take a photo of a string of leaves flowing down a river. Nature is chaotic, yet structured with patterns and designs, and Andy really captures that stark contrast between chaos and order with his sculptures and backgrounds. The forefront of his photos are the sculptures, which require an advanced technical skill, some of which bewilder me on how it was achieved. However, the background of his photos are also very beautiful and fits in with the theme of his sculptures. Together, they create a cohesive and provocative photo that combines that fore-mentioned chaos and order.
