Algis Norvila

What impresses me most about Algis Norvila’s presentation is that he did not focus on the technique perspective of photographs when he presented his works. Instead, he focused more on the history and stories behind the photographs. I like this idea very much and often take photos based on it. Algis Norvila’s photo is like a diary, which is calm and has no grand purpose. It is just black and white pixels that recorded the past story.
The second point is Algis Norvila said he prefer manual film camera, we know that in recent years the rapid development of  technology and economy to the artistic creation up to an unprecedented convenience degree, we can even use photoshop to beautify our photos with just one click on auto function, but it’s easy to lose some more natural, more pure core, I think that is the connotation of the photography, which is the sense of reality.
Thirdly, the ‘self-portrait’ that Algis mentioned in the talk, I like this picture very much. The empty sofa and hair perm are perfect case of “blank space”. In Chinese culture, “blank space” is the highest level of a work of art, which indicates the development potential of a thing. If a painting is full of objects, it will have no room to paint other things. On the contrary, “blank space” makes the work of art imaginative, and more importantly, full of hope.
