Push the limit of luminescence dating

500,000 years is currently the limit reached by the technique. However, there have some indications that this limit can me further extended.

Chronology of Early Humans

We are working on applying new luminescence dating methods to Plio-Pleistocene archaeological sites, where difficulties determine the age of fossils and stone tools continue to hamper human evolutionary research.

Dating the Paleolithic in Eurasia

I am particularly interested in the significant questions of the disappearance of Neanderthals from Eurasia, the associated spread of anatomically modern humans across Eurasia, and the extent to which there was contact with Denisovans in Siberia.

American prehistory

Crucial questions surrounding the American Prehistory still remain unanswered. When did the First Americans arrive and how did they spread out across the New World?

Geology of Long Island

Surface and subsurface features are of considerable interest because of their implications for our understanding of Long Island’s paleoclimate during the Pleistocene as well as the mechanics of glaciotectonic deformation.
