The fast pace of the video almost made it hard to follow, with the varying images and sounds played together and moving rapidly. Certain images stuck out though, because of the constant repetition, such as the dead birds. Each time they showed the birds it felt uncomfortable but was also interesting in a way. You could tell they were being used for identification/scientific purposes, due to the way they were organized so efficiently and had tags on their feet. Each time the video flashed back to the birds there were different species, both large and small birds, so they presented some form of variation but it was probably the one thing in the video that every time it came up I was completely aware of it. The videos of these dead birds and other animals juxtaposed with the man’s voice talking about creation myths evoked a strange feeling. It feels like commentary about the nature of life. Along with the birds, there is also a lot of human hand imagery, which sort of adds an element of human control. The feeling we get is that these dead animals are not entirely natural, and are being controlled by the hand of humans.
