Volunteering

In my professional autography, I have talked about my experiences and how they have shaped and inspired me personally and professionally. I believe the purpose of life is to try out best to justify for inequality and I want to be a person who is able to help/ be there for people who need emotional support in the society. These following service experiences I have listed below are the few of the most significant thing I have done so far while in the process to fight for inequality and become a community server.

I have worked with multiple NGOs around the world to help building a better environment for people in third world countries while exploring different cultures.

  • India

Taught children age 4-10 English and Math

What I learnt: It was my first time interacting with children whose first language was not English. They understood very minimal amount of English and could barely speak English. We had to communicate in body language at first with the children, and after the first 2 days they have learnt enough vocabulary to learn basic Math.

  • Chiangmai (Thailand)

Re-built a muddy road that water overflew in the poorest village in Chiangmai working with the villagers.

What I learnt: A lot of adults had to go to the city to work everyday, and left their children (who are mentally not so much like children) behind in the village. The children were responsible for cooking, laundry, and a lot of heavy duties, such as handing us buckets and buckets of concrete.

  • Silk Road (China)

Taught children age 8-13 English

I learnt: The locals have taught us a local traditional dance.

  • Cambodia

I joined the HUSK, a Cambodian registered NGO working in Treak and Kompheim Villages Siem to help improvising villagers’ living environment. We built a school in the 3rd poorest village in Cambodia with a unique method with concrete and plastic bottles taught by the locals in return for a warm thank you dinner cooked by the villagers.

I learnt: The villagers’ use of recycle material to improvise the society’s environment has inspired me to be creative and more aware of my action and responsibility as a global citizen.
