About Me

Hi! My name is Mahmoud Abdalla and I am currently a first year graduate Biomedical Engineering student at Stony Brook University in Long Island, NY. In May of 2022 I graduated from Wagner College with my Bachelors Degree in Physics. I am pursuing my Masters of Science, and plan to graduate in May of 2024. After this year I plan on applying for the Medical Physics Track, in the Biomedical Engineering Department.Ever since my first Thermodynamics class in 2020 I became intrigued in Radiation and started to  do my own research as to what more I could do with radiation. I then found the field of Medical Physics and I instantly found what I wanted to do. Coming to Stony Brook  was an easy decision for me as it is home to Magnetic Resonance Imaging.

When I’m not focusing on school I am running for the Stony Brook Division 1 Track and Field team. I have been running for about 9 years and it has come to be a big part of my life. My favorite TV show is How I Met Your Mother and I am a huge Washington Commanders football fan, Yankees fan and Knicks fan. I am a first generation American as my parents came here from Sudan. I tend to visit my family there every 3 years and I come back with a new experience and outlook on life every time.

This is me on my graduation day in May of 2022 from Wagner college.

This is my first ever trip to the Brookhaven National Laboratory, which I got to experience with fellow BME graduates.
