Kedar Kirane is an Associate Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department at Stony Brook University. He has a PhD from Northwestern University, MS from the Ohio State University and BE from University of Pune (College of Engineering Pune). PHD STUDENTS

WANRU MIAO

Wanru Miao is a Ph.D. student at the mechanical engineering department. She obtained her Master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in Mechanical Engineering and from Michigan State University in Civil Engineering. Her research mainly concentrates on experimental characterization and modeling of fracture and size effect in woven composite composite materials

 

SANKET WARDHEKAR

Sanket Wardhekar is a Ph.D. student at the Mechanical Engineering department. He has completed his Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from College of Engineering Pune, India. He is currently working on constitutive modeling and characterization of multi-axial damage in brittle polymers.

JOHN PARK 

John Park is a Ph.D. student at the Mechanical Engineering department. He has completed his Bachelors and Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stony Brook University. He also worked as a mechanical design engineer at U.S. Army CCDC C5ISR Center. He is currently working on characterization of failure and size effects in the presence of various nonlinearities

RACQUEL LOVELACE 

Racquel Lovelace is a Ph.D. student at the Mechanical Engineering department. She completed her M.Sc. in Nuclear Engineering from the University of New South Wales and her M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Tyler. She obtained her B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Kettering University. She currently works at Brookhaven National Lab in the Electron Ion Collider directorate. She is currently investigating the characterization and modeling of failure of epoxy at cryogenic temperatures

 

SAJJID HASSAN ASIF 

Sajjid Hasan Asif is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from the Military Institute of Science and Technology, Dhaka, Bangladesh. His research focuses on mesh objectivite constitutive modeling of dynamic fracture in composite materials

THOMAS PICCOLO 

Thomas Piccolo is a graduate student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from SUNY Maritime College. His interdisciplinary research focuses on the computational modeling of abdominal hernias
