Academic Writing:
Throughout my academic career, I have written, edited, and revised many works including but not limited to Short Stories, Poems, Literary and Rhetorical Analysis papers, Research Papers, Psychology Papers, and Personal Statements.
Having the Psychology background knowledge and being able to apply the communication and analytical skills to my writing is very important to me. In my Personal Statement, I touch on the different skills and aspects I have learned from a selected group of my classes at Stony Brook University that I will use and benefit me in my future endeavors.

Fiction Writing:
The Cultivator and Red Ribbon are two fictional short stories that I wrote throughout my writing minor at Stony Brook University. Throughout my academic writing courses, I learned about mastering the creative process and taking the necessary steps to create a finished, polished piece of writing. In addition, the class allowed me to have peer editing and review experience which I can use throughout my future writing endeavors.
Screenplay:
In addition to short story writing, I also completed the online course Writing a Feature-Length Screenplay for Film or Television, where I wrote and edited a screenplay. The course was through Coursera.com, where I earned the specialization certificate in July 2020. This course taught us the process of screenwriting, from beginning to end. Also, this course taught us how to master the many different components of screenwriting, in order to possess the skills necessary to finish a polished script. Below I have attached a few scenes from my script, “Out of Reach”.
