At the start of the Spring 2020 semester at Stony Brook University, my undergraduate Senior Seminar class decided on a title for their upcoming art exhibition that would represent the widely diverse students and art. The sudden, unexpected change of venue, from an actual university art gallery exhibition to an online exhibition made their original title, “Mind the Gap” seem all the more prescient. The student works generated during this unprecedented historic moment , serves as a diaristic time capsule. Like everyone else, globally affected, these students portray unique creative expressions from their hearts and minds. I hope you will enjoy their exhibition as much as I have enjoyed working with this exuberant class. A safe and memorable experience to all.
Special thanks to Paul St. Denis, Gregory Lucci, Loren Camberto, and Katherine Maier for their digital expertise and generosity of spirit with Mind the Gap.
