Andy Goldsworthy

Andy Goldsworthy (1956-present) is a British photographer and sculptor who is known for his natural and urban sculptures. He is known for staging a naturally built sculpture in nature and taking photos of it. The act of taking photos of these staged areas allows for Goldsworthy to mark “the moment when the work is most alive”. This goes along with the motto his work goes by which focuses on life and the fact that things in life do not last. You get get this sense from his work, sculptures will melt, blow away and whither but the images of them in their most perfect state will be held onto. However, many of his exhibitions can be seen around the world. many of his stone sculptures  are out in the natural world where they can be viewed.
