Condition Study: Avoidant Personality Disorder (AVPD)
The condition that I hope to depict for this project is Avoidant Personality Disorder (AVPD). This disorder is characterized by a pattern of extreme shyness and sensitivity to social situations. It stems from the intense fear of rejection along with disapproval. Some symptoms of AVPD include: anxiety, avoiding conflict, self-isolation, inadequacy, lack of trust, low self-esteem, etc. The way that I would like to portray this condition is through cars. Every car has a personality of its own, from the way it looks, to the area it is parked, to the time of day it is being driven. Cars, in a way, are like humans, and I want to personify them in this project through the use of correct composition and lighting. The cars are all seen in a dim and quiet setting, where is it more typical for a person with AVPD to be comfortable in.

They relocated and are finally able to isolate from everyone, just how they wanted. Just what they needed.
