About Me

I am an M.D.-Ph.D. student in the Biomedical Engineering Department and the Laufer Center for Physical and Quantitative Biology at Stony Brook Univerisity. My research focus is at the interface between medicine, biology, and engineering in synthetic biology where I use gene circuits to study oncogenes, metastasis genes, and EMT genes. More specifically, I use optogenetics to control these gene circuits to gain both spatial and temporal resolution for studying how cancer develops.
