Stony Brook University:
I entered the MD-PhD program at Stony Brook in 2015 and started the program by rotating in the laboratory of Prof. Gabor Balazsi in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. Like my previous work, Prof. Balazsi’ work focused on synthetic biology and quantitative biology for research problems such as evolution, development, and cancer. My current work in the lab is standardizing optogenetic tools in the lab for tissue engineering and analyzing cancer evolution. || Balazsi Lab ||
University of Texas at Dallas:
As an undergraduate student, I worked in the lab of Professor Leonidas Bleris at the University of Texas at Dallas in the Department of Bioengineering. I majored in Biochemistry with a focus in electrical engineering and biomedical engineering. This lab focused on areas of expertise including systems biology and synthetic biology. My work focused on constructing, validating, and analyzing a variety of synthetic gene circuits for numerous applications including interfacing disease markers and produce diagnostic responses. || Bleris Lab ||
