Many of the atrocities that has occurred in Nepal during the Civil War still runs throughout the country specific the violence against women. The crimes committed against these women ranges from gang rape, kidnapping, beating, rape, blackmail, etc. which still are not dealt with properly in Nepal. The government has mainly acted based on the social pressures of the international community and many of the grassroots organizations that advocate for women rights and protection. There has been little to none attention to the placement of rehabilitations for these women violated along with the issue of ensuring justice for these women who were abused and killed.
There has been a growing presence of NGOs in Nepal from after the Civil war that is specifically catered to advocating towards women rights, education, and justice within law enforcement. These organizations have allowed for their collective voices to be heard within the international community. It puts pressure on the current government to do their due diligence to continue on the regulations to protect these women. Even though NGOs can do so much for the women within Nepal, it does provide hope and create opportunities for these women to educate themselves. Many of these NGOs provide education, shelter, and overall support for these women and children who have suffered from the aftermath of the Civil War.
