Won’t You Entertain Us? is a sketch comedy show that includes parodies of film and television genres and conversations about both mainstream and obscure pop culture. It uses familiar stories and character types to comment on the entertainment industry, but it may make you snort-laugh.
Artist Statement
I treat comedy as a serious art form. At least when I’m not just trying to amuse myself. I write skits not only to tell jokes, be witty, and chase running gags, but also to provide information and ideas for analysis and reflection. I value comedy because, by avoiding highly emotional material, it leaves the mind open to a variety of ideas with its memorable moments, clever connections, and traditional absurdity. My writing opens up new ideas about everyday life, pop culture, and the connections between the two. But it is not afraid to go for a cheap punchline.
