Project Description

Casual Fridays is a musical is about a young waitress who is put in a tough situation by one of her managers. She needs to figure out how to handle it and stand up for herself. With or without the help of coworkers, Amanda navigates abuse of power, friendships, judgements and a budding romance in the workplace.

Artist Statement

I started writing songs when I was in fourth grade. They helped me process how I was feeling. I could express myself, say what I was really thinking about people, but hide behind the ruse of a song. Hard things are easier to hear with a rhyme. So I hide secret messages in my songs. I put specific references right in people’s faces in hopes that they would understand what was going through my brain. My songs are how I communicate with the world. How I tell my story.
