For this Photoset, I attempted to capture the mood of the “new normal”  in nature amidst this pandemic. Nature once was a place to enjoy, admire, and respect, but since Covid-19 struck our country, it hasn’t been the same. If you take a trip to any beautiful spot in nature, you may find yourself observing the same thing: a solemn, quiet and littered place. Instead of breathing in the fresh air, we’re forced to breathe through a mask. Everyday as I go on hikes or the beach to watch a sunset, I am saddened to see several masks and gloves each time, discarded with little care on our beaches and in our forests. If this photoset does anything, I hope it brings some awareness to this issue and people will think twice before they litter their PPE.

  1. Hello Nikki.
As always, Great job. I really enjoyed the different tonalities in each one of your pictures. The scenery is amazing and the idea of integrate the mask in them is very interesting. I also appreciate the message in each one of them.
