Taurus, the Wandering Bull is meant as a children’s storybook of how the constellation Taurus first appeared in the night sky. A bull named Taurus was born with a pair of wings, and was outed by his friends and family for being different. He dreamed of using his wings to explore the night sky, yet his dreams were diminished by his family’s disappointment and he didn’t know how to fly. Seeing how upset Taurus was, the birds that lived in the trees helped Taurus learn to fly and helped him to embrace his uniqueness. One night, Taurus’s family was swept away by a great flood from a storm that hit their home. The bulls were misplaced and didn’t know the way home. Taurus, with his newfound flying skills, wanted to help his family and be accepted by them for who he truly was.
With a wish on a shooting star a great wind carried his wings higher and higher off the ground, helping him locate his family and lead them to safety. Taurus’s wings lifted him so high that he touched the sky, and so he became a part of the stars he once longed to explore. He became a constellation that pointed the bulls to their home. Taurus was finally able to explore the stars he loved so much. This story can be a lesson for us to embrace our uniqueness, follow our passions, and to help others in need.
