Hello! My name is Peter DiPietro, and I am a biomedical engineering graduate student at Stony Brook University. I intend to graduate in May 2025 with a Masters of Science in Biomedical Engineering, before attending law school to study to become a patent attorney. I am currently doing research in Dr. Wei Yin’s lab, where I am working to develop a fall prevention device. I also work at Intellectual Property Partners, Stony Brook University’s technology transfer office, where I evaluate the patentability and market potential of disclosures from researchers across campus. As an undergraduate student, I was a software team lead for the CICaidA project, which focused on developing a wrist-wearable pulse oximetry device and app for use in nursing homes.
