Ernesto Benavides, Peru

Illegal gold mining in Peru causes the loss of several hectares of forest every year. Ernesto Benavides’ aerial photography collection “Dredges” deeply demonstrates the merciless exploitation of natural resources by human beings. In addition to independent photography, Benavides also works for the French news agency, whose works are often published in international media. He has been teaching photography at the University of Lima in Peru since 2010.
