Fleeting Accessories
One of the most commonly overlooked parts of fashion is accessories. Accessories have the power to transform any typical outfit into something that really stands out and shows the personality of the wearer. With my love for accessories, when looking for small objects to include in my Photogram Diptych, I did not have to go any further than my nightstand covered in rings, bracelets, necklaces, and pins. I was also very interested in playing with fading and moving objects during photogram processing.
Part of the beauty of accessories is their fleeting nature. Because they are often small and overlooked, accessories get misplaced or lost all the time. In fact, while I was planning my Photogram Diptych, one of my friends lost a ring I had given them at a concert. They were very bummed out and apologetic when telling me about it, but I see nothing to be sad about. Although it is too bad that they have one less accessory to wear, what is important is that the accessory was enjoyed and that memories were once made with the accessory. My Photogram Diptych is an effort to portray this fleeting nature of accessories.
