What is the Psychology Student Alliance?
The Psychology Student Alliance (PSA) is an organization that strives to connect undergraduates to the Psychology Department at Stony Brook University by facilitating an environment where peers, faculty, and graduate students can come together. During our various General Body Meetings and Events on campus, we try our best to make sure you can grow as a student leader, develop close friendships, and gain experiences in various volunteering and research experiences — we also like to have fun!
General Body Meetings are held on Thursdays, from 4-4:45PM on Zoom.
What’s is the Psychology Student Alliance mission statement?
“Building Research, Advocacy, Diversity, and Networking”
Throughout the year, P.S.A. will provide our members with opportunities to learn what research is taking place on the Stony Brook campus as well as throughout the world. We have long been concerned with struggling demographics and our role in supporting efforts toward a fairer world. P.S.A. will provide our students with many opportunities throughout the year for advocacy. P.S.A., formerly “Minorities in Psychology”, has a long history of encouraging diversity, educating our community on this topic, as well as providing an environment in which all students feel comfortable and welcome. Lastly, it is our goal to provide our members with networking opportunities. Anyone may join.
