Welcome!

The Public Health on Campus Podcast was initially started in early 2019 by hosts Samantha Frontario and SBU MPH alumni Amanda Ng, after noticing there was a limited number of current podcasts available focusing on public health. Samantha revamped the podcast in  August 2019 with the help of current co-host Tracey Rosenlicht (an MPH graduate student at SBU) and the Center for prevention and Outreach under the guidance of Dr. Smita Majumdar, PsyD.

Podcasting provides an important platform to inform and enlighten students on relevant health issues of today. We felt that the best way to reach and be relatable to students is to create a podcast from the perspective of public health graduate students. Integrating this new form of media and public health will ignite a platform where one can communicate and inform a variety of different public health issues to audiences. The main goal of the podcast is to educate SBU students on various health issues with relevant research and guest interviews. It is important for us to provide listeners with information on these topics as well as prevention strategies and an outlet where students can go to resolve these issues on campus.  Some topics include mental health, alcoholism, and sexual health.

Currently, Samantha and Tracey run all the logistics for the podcast ranging from hosting, producing, marketing, booking interviews, and scriptwriting. Check us out on Spotify, Google Podcast, Anchor, Radio Public, or Breaker Podcast and follow us on Instagram @publichealthoncampus.
