The United Nations has declared 2025 to be the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology to celebrate the 100th year anniversary of discovering quantum mechanics.

To commemorate this, QuEST is hosting two IYQ (International Year of Quantum Science and Technology) conferences in 2025. One for high-school teachers on May 3, 2025 at Brookhaven National Lab (International Year of Quantum Educational Leadership Teachers Conference), and another for administrators and science directors (International Year of Quantum 2025 Educational Leadership Conference) on March 12, 2025 at the Stony Brook Hilton, to support and encourage the importance of teaching quantum physics.
